With both this film and the original one in 1975 but particularly this one its a sad take on a commercially driven dystopian future Plus Im a Muslim American and I really resent the attitude and direction the film takes in that direction mocking how women dress but mostly I just dislike it because of its take on Muslim values and its emphasis on commercial popularity
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent movie that makes stark predictions about the future roughly 2020 as seen from some point in the mid1970s Corporations run the world people are fed a constant diet of brutal distracting violence and nationstates have vanished from the political scene
ReplyDeleteIts good movie and very original One of Caans best roles Looking at this film through the lens of todays society there is a strong message I remember when this film first came out Im not sure the message was received back then I didnt understand the message this film was trying to tell back in 1975 I sure do now

ReplyDeleteThe hair the clothes the attitude the music its all cool by me So while Roll Bounce didn’t seem to be my kind of movie the rollerdisco angle hooked me in In the end however rollerdisco isn’t enough to save Roll Bounce which tries to be warm and sentimental but comes off as forced
